IJF Board of Directors / John Edelman

John Edelman is the Managing Director for Edelman, a global communications firm. He also serves as President of the DJ Edelman Family Foundation. Edelman leads the firm’s global citizenship initiatives including corporate social responsibility, volunteerism, corporate philanthropy, community engagement, supplier, and partnership engagement, environmental sustainability, and corporate reporting. He co-leads the Global Diversity and Inclusion Council with Nigel Miller, Chief Talent Officer. Prior to this appointment, he served as the Managing Director for global human resources where he oversaw global human resources, professional staff, and operations.

The Holmes Group awarded the 2012 Silver Sabre for PR Agency Citizenship to Edelman. PRSA has also previously presented Edelman a Silver Anvil for excellence in internal communication, in recognition of the firm’s global launch of the company’s mission, vision, and values program. Earlier, he served as vice president and general manager in the Edelman office in Dallas. He was a delegate on the Dallas Chamber of Commerce Trade Mission to Japan.

Edelman holds a Master’s Degree in Management (MM) in Marketing and Public Management from Northwestern University Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He received a BA in Political Science from Brown University. He currently is a member of the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship. Edelman is also an honorary board member of Student Veterans of America and sits on the advisory board of Ethical Corporation.
